Attorney Sharon F. Bridges is General Counsel for Alice L. Walton School of Medicine. In this role, she serves as a member of the Dean’s cabinet and Corporate Secretary to the board of trustees while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the legal department.

Prior to this role, Attorney Bridges served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Baystate Health in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she led the direction and coordination of all legal services, including advising senior leadership on an array of corporate, regulatory, patient care, and contracting matters. Previously, she served as the Associate General Counsel of Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation in Memphis, Tennessee, and the Assistant General Counsel of Tulane University School of Medicine and Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans.

Attorney Bridges received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia, and her juris doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.

Attorney Bridges is a member of the Women’s Leadership Council of the American Health Law Association, Corporate Counsel Women of Color, and the Health Care Compliance Association. She is also the former Vice President and General Counsel of the National Bar Association (NBA), and the Immediate Past Chair of the NBA Women Lawyers Division. Her work with the NBA was recognized in 2023, when she received the NBA Leadership Award and was added to the Women Lawyers Division Scroll of Distinguished Women Lawyers.

Attorney Bridges currently serves as a Board Commissioner for the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority, leads a program mentoring women law students, and engages in community service as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
