Applicants interested in AWSOM must meet all minimum requirements to be considered for a secondary application. These include academic benchmarks, MCAT scores, and citizenship or residency status. Below are the key details.

Minimum Requirements

Application Process

The AMCAS primary application is required and opens in early May.

Applications must be submitted by November 1 to be considered. Visit the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) to learn more about AMCAS and how to submit your application to AWSOM.

Additional Requirements

Criminal background checks are required for all applicants admitted to AWSOM and must be completed prior to matriculation.

All matriculating students must also meet the technical standards for admission, progress, and graduation to ensure they can fully participate in the medical education program. The minimum technical standards can be reviewed online here.

International Applicants

Only U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible for admission.

Transfer Admissions

We do not accept transfer students from any medical college, domestic or international.
